Costs, income and the budget chart

Every task in a project is a budget item. In the Project and budget section of the task window (or after clicking the amount on the project page) you set:

• Include in budget — untick it if the task should be in the project (e.g. on the timeline) but without an amount,
• Cost or Income,
• the Amount — e.g. “1200.50” (up to two decimal places),
• the project Stage.

Item status

The status of the task on the board decides what stage the expense is at:

• To do → planned cost,
• In progress → cost in progress,
• Done → completed cost.

Moving a task on the board updates the project chart straight away. Income is counted the same way.

Chart

• Remaining budget = budget − all costs (planned, in progress and completed). When costs are higher, you will see Over budget,
• Budget usage — a bar with completed, in-progress and planned costs; the dashed part is the remaining budget,
• Costs and income — a comparison of both totals broken down by status,
• Result = income − costs, Profitability = result as a percentage of income (it is not calculated without income).

Below the chart there is a table with amounts for each status. Hover over a part of the bar to see its amount.
