Dependencies between tasks
“This task starts only after that one” — warnings and moving the next tasks.
A dependency means a task can start only after another task on the same board has ended (e.g. painting after plastering).
- Open a task and in the Dependencies section choose Add a previous task…. You can add several.
- If the task’s time starts before the previous one ends, you see a warning next to that previous task.
- When you change a task’s time and the next tasks would start too early, the app asks whether to move them — they keep their length and the move continues down the chain. Every moved task gets a history entry.
- Dependencies cannot form a cycle — tasks that depend on this task are not in the list to choose from.
- Tasks without a date are not moved and do not trigger warnings.
- Moving the next tasks is offered when you save from the task window. Dragging a task in the calendar does not move them.
- Deleting a task deletes its dependencies. A dependency works only between tasks of one board.
