Splitting costs

The Costs view on a board helps you settle shared expenses — with family, roommates or on a trip. You record who paid and for whom, and the app works out balances and suggests who should pay whom back.

1. Open the board and choose the Costs view.
2. Click Add expense: enter what it was for, the amount and currency, choose who paid and split the cost — Equally among the ticked people or Custom amounts.
3. When someone pays money back, click Record payment (next to a suggestion under “How to settle up” the amount is filled in for you).

• Balances are calculated separately for each currency. “To get back” applies to a person who paid more than their share; “to pay” to one who paid less.
• An entry can be changed or deleted by its author or the board owner. Balances update immediately.
• All board members see the expenses. The app does not move money — it only calculates; you make the payment yourselves (transfer, cash) and record it in the view.
• A person removed from the board stays in the entries (greyed out) so balances still add up. After an account is deleted, its entries on other boards become anonymous (“Deleted user”).
